HomeScore vs Hint: from an inspection to your next move

HomeScore and Hint both help homeowners work with home information, including inspection reports. HomeScore provides a public browser analyzer, an App record with share-link controls and authenticated MCP setup. Hint's official materials describe an address-based home profile, document reading and guidance for home decisions. This comparison separates documented features from details that are not established by the sources.

Inspection analysis: compare the result

Start with a real question from your report. In HomeScore, the browser analyzer presents findings, severity and planning cost ranges. The next decision might be to ask your inspector for clarification, request a contractor assessment or save the system details you can confirm. Estimated costs support budgeting; the condition of your own property still needs appropriate professional assessment.

Hint also says it reads inspection reports, warranties and work orders. Its official site describes guidance about urgency and quotes. That means report reading alone is not a fair reason to declare one app better. Review the output, trace it back to the original report and check whether you understand what to do next.

A record you can keep and share

A useful result should still help after the first visit. HomeScore's signed-in App keeps home information and provides a share-management screen. You can create a link for selected information, choose when it expires and revoke it later. The recipient opens the token-based viewer. Review the selected content before sharing it and use the controls when access should end.

Those controls matter when you want a contractor to review a particular issue or someone helping with your home to see the relevant history. They are not evidence of a partnership with any recipient. Hint's reviewed public pages describe document organization, but do not establish equivalent expiration or revocation controls. An undocumented feature remains unknown, not absent.

AI access: supported setup has boundaries

The HomeScore App includes an authenticated MCP server and a connection setup page for compatible AI clients. The server exposes home information through scoped tools; retained write actions are proposals requiring confirmation in the App. A connection is not permission for an AI to silently change your home record.

Access still depends on the AI client's current settings and your account. We do not promise a one-click setup, every possible action or marketplace approval. HomeScore's public Home Planner is a separate early-testing service for general planning; it does not connect to saved App records. The Hint sources reviewed for this comparison do not describe an MCP connector.

Price and the first useful step

HomeScore Free covers up to 3 systems. HomeScore Pro is $14/mo. Start free. No card needed to begin. If you add a card to start a 30-day HomeScore Pro trial, billing begins after the trial at $14/month until you cancel. Starting an account and starting the card-backed trial are different steps.

Hint's App Store listing says free to download. This comparison does not infer the cost of every Hint service, an unlisted subscription or future functionality from that label. Check current terms before buying. To assess HomeScore, begin with the inspection analyzer linked at the top of this page; after reviewing the result, save confirmed information, ask Jarvis about your home or prepare a shared record. Judge the fit by that completed task.

Questions before you start

Does Hint read home inspection reports?

Yes. Hint's official website and App Store listing say it reads inspection reports and other home documents. HomeScore also has a browser-based inspection analyzer. Compare the actual output and the next step you need, rather than assuming report reading is exclusive to either product.

How much does HomeScore cost?

HomeScore Free lets you save up to 3 systems. HomeScore Pro is $14/mo. Start free. No card needed to begin. Add a card to start your 30-day HomeScore Pro trial. You won't be charged until the trial ends, then $14/month until you cancel.

Can I share a HomeScore home record?

The signed-in App lets you create a share link for selected home information, set an expiration and revoke the link. Review the content before sharing it. A share link does not mean a buyer, agent, insurer or contractor is a HomeScore partner.

Does HomeScore connect to ChatGPT and Claude?

HomeScore's App provides an authenticated MCP connection and client setup instructions. Availability depends on the client, your plan and workspace settings. This is not a claim of one-click onboarding or marketplace approval. The public Home Planner is a separate service in early testing and does not access saved App records.
